The Flood - Aqua Monstra

This illustration is part of a personal creature and environment design project. In a land where water has lost all balance and nature is in disarray, a brave adventurer must brave the journey to reach the core of the issue, which lies dormant at the bottom of a millennia-old lake. On their way they will find a number of creatures that have taken over the land.

The Flood monster is an amphibian that dwells in rivers and swamps. IT knocks down trees by slamming into them in order to make rivers overflow and widen its hunting grounds. Is is a swift and lethal fighter, prone to ambush its prey by waiting for it to get mired in mud... or by using the protrusion of its mandible as a shovel to upturn the ground and obscure the prey's field of vision.
